The Art of Finding What Was Already There
FOUND MONEY
The journey starts here.
What do you find when you start paying attention to what was already there?
Found Money is the opening chapter of Deucestacks’ three-album journey—a record about value in all its forms: money, memory, language, family, faith, survival and the experiences that shape who we become.
But beneath the surface, something else is happening.
Words refuse to stay in one place.
A phrase can begin with one meaning and end somewhere completely different. Cultural references become bridges. Images disappear and return. Money becomes language. Language becomes money. Questions are asked without immediate answers.
The deeper you listen, the more the album begins to reward you for remembering what you've already heard.
Nothing is wasted.
A mailbox can hold more than mail.
A painting can become an act of creation.
A king can become something greater.
An angel can change angles.
A word can leave one meaning behind, travel through an entirely different idea, and somehow find its way home.
That's Found Money.
It's music built around the idea that value doesn't always announce itself. Sometimes you have to find it.
And underneath the wordplay is something more personal.
A son looking at where he comes from.
An artist figuring out what he believes.
A man measuring money against purpose, survival against legacy, and who he is against who he might become.
There are clues throughout the record.
Some resolve immediately.
Some don't.
That's intentional.
Because Found Money isn't asking you to understand everything the first time.
It's asking you to listen again.
And the very first song gives you the only instruction you really need:
“Let me go, I’m coming back.”
So let it go.
See what comes back.
